Archive Aid 9 in Lafayette and Festival Del Taco in Opelousas

There is always so much to do in Lafayette and Acadiana and today is no exception. First, I would like to invite you to the 9th annual Archive Aid at the Blue Moon Saloon in Lafayette.

Help UL Cajun and Creole Archives at the Blue Moon What is Archive Aid? Very simply, it is a fund raiser to benefit the Archives of Cajun and Creole Folklore at UL Lafayette. It’s something that is very near and dear to my heart as I’ve used those archives for my research in the past. For the past three years, I have been sponsoring the food so if you are hungry and want to hear some fine music, come on out because Chris Segura is cooking and the line-up is great.
There is a cover to get in, otherwise known as a 10 dollars donation, and lets face it: you are helping preserve the culture of our Acadiana before it fades away. We are too important a people to let that happen. so come on out Saturday Night to support ARCHIVE AID and have a ROCKIN good time doing it!
For more info, visit the CCET web page for ArchiveAid 9 or their facebook page.

If you don’t know what to do this afternoon, how about the First Annual Taco Festival in Opelousas at the farmers market pavilion off exit 19B. The location has changed since they started advertising, but the farmers market is the place to be!
For more information visit the Festival Del Taco on Facebook. And by the way…its FREE! My team will be out there enjoying the music and chowing down on some taco’s. See you there!
